Privacy Policy
Chapter is a private personal-history organiser. This policy explains what stays on your devices and what happens when you choose to import, review or export information.

What Chapter stores
You may enter travel, addresses, immigration or status, passport, important-date, healthcare, employment, education and supporting-evidence records. Chapter stores this information on your device. You do not need a Chapter account, and Chapter does not operate a server that stores your immigration history.
iCloud Sync
When iCloud is available, Chapter can keep your history up to date across your Apple devices using your private iCloud account. Chapter remains useful offline and does not operate its own server for your history.
Imports and shared files
CSV files are processed on this device. Files shared to Chapter are kept as protected copies in Files to Review until you remove them or choose Delete All Chapter Data. They do not become saved history without your review and confirmation and are not part of Chapter's private iCloud history sync. Removing a copy does not delete the original file in another app.
Boarding passes and documents
Apple's built-in barcode and PDF tools read boarding passes on-device. For other documents you choose to share, Chapter can use Apple's on-device text recognition to find clearly labelled possible history while you review it. Recognised text stays on this device during review and is not sent to a Chapter-operated document-processing server or AI service. Boarding passes and documents do not prove immigration entry, authenticity or length of stay. Raw passenger, PNR and security fields are not intentionally persisted or logged. Only facts you confirm become a record.
Face ID Lock
Face ID Lock is optional. Apple checks your identity and tells Chapter whether the check succeeded. Chapter does not receive or store your face data. Face ID Lock controls access to the app, but it does not encrypt your records.
Reminders
Chapter uses local notifications for reminders you enable. Reminder text avoids passport numbers, immigration references, addresses and private notes.
Exports
Healthcare treatment details, like other Chapter records, are stored locally and included in exports only when you choose the relevant export. Immigration History PDF and CSV exports are generated locally. Chapter does not upload them automatically. You choose whether and where to save or share them.
Purchases
You receive 30 days of full free access. After that, you can continue using Chapter by buying Lifetime Access once for £2.99. There is no subscription and no automatic charge. Apple handles payment through the App Store, so Chapter does not receive your full payment card details.
Advertising and tracking
Chapter has no advertising or behavioural tracking and does not use third-party analytics.
Deleting history
Delete All Chapter Data deletes saved history, supporting evidence, Files to Review copies and pending reminders. Deletions can synchronise through private iCloud when available. Original external files are not deleted, purchase entitlement or free-access state is not reset, and general preferences may remain.
